The Holy Week story dominates the gospels, and the cross is the central Christian symbol. Yet all too easily this mystery at the heart of Christian faith slips by in the rush of approaching Easter and its transforming potential cannot penetrate deeply into our lives.

Led by David and Helen Newman, this online retreat offers the opportunity to enter deeply into the last week of Jesus’ life, to find ourselves there with all our sadness, weakness and vulnerability, and to discover the life and hope that emerges out of the darkness.

In the midst of the ongoing coronavirus crisis we're aware that many people will be unable to engage with their churches and Christian communities over Holy Week. To help sustain your life of prayer and discipleship, Launde Abbey is offering this entire online retreat free of charge.

Because of the Coronavirus crisis, we too are all unexpectedly living in uncertainty, our usual lifestyle disrupted and restricted by self-isolation and social-distancing. Supermarket shelves are empty of basic supplies. We don’t know how long it will be before our lives get back to normal. Yet whatever happens, we need to focus not on the negative things that are happening but on a God who loves us, cares for us and can always be trusted to provide for our needs.
